Spodumene Li[AlSi2O6]

Spodumene concentrate is a mineral that is mined from pegmatite deposits. It is then processed to remove impurities. The concentrate typically contains around 6-7% lithium oxide, which is then further refined to produce lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide. These compounds are used in the production of batteries for electric vehicles, as well as other electronics. Spodumene is used in glasses, glass-ceramics, porcelain enamels, whitewares, and glazes due to the powerful fluxing properties of lithia.
